IFS Clinical Consultation Group information

IFS Clinical Consultation Groups help share knowledge and improve the use of the method by presenting your own questions and listening to other people’s presentations.

The groups I run are made of either 3 (with overall duration of 90 minutes) or 4 participants (with overall duration of 2 hours) , where each participant gets approximately 30 min each.

We will start each session with a short check-in in which I ask you to give me an idea of what you are bringing to the space. For example

  • Clinical questions about your work with clients/patients regarding one-to-one sessions with adults (for cases involving young people, families, couples or groups, please let me know in advance by email because I do not cover these areas in my work at the moment);

  • Theoretical questions about IFS;

  • Desire to practice some IFS skills (for example Direct Access) with me.

After hearing from each of you, I will divide the remaining time equally and decide the order of who goes first, second, etc. I usually give priority to clinical questions.

Costs and payment process

When I organise these groups, I set in advance all the dates, times and number of the sessions (usually 4) and collect the payment in advance for all the sessions. The fee is £55 (or Euro equivalent if preferred) per person per session. It is possible to pay by bank transfer or by card (please notice that card payments incur a 3% extra charge to cover transaction costs).

Sessions cannot be rescheduled and, should someone not be able to attend one session, it will not be refunded. The session will last 30 minutes less if someone is not able to attend.

Should I not be able to attend a session, I will cancel it and organise a refund.

More information about me and these groups

I believe it is relevant to this group that you know the following

  • I have been running this type of groups for more than a year for the Italian community. They work very well, but 30-minutes might not be enough if the case you bring is quite complex. I suggest that, when presenting a case, you do not spend too long presenting the client’s history detail, and you focus on what happens in the session between you and the client when you use (or want to use) IFS.

  • I have applied to become an “approved IFS Clinical Consultant” and the IFS Institute will let me know in April. If I am successful, from that moment on, the hours of clinical consultation with me will count towards your certification. I am not fully aware of the latest certification guidelines. Please check the IFS Institute website for updated guidelines.

  • I am currently on the leadership career path to become an IFS Lead trainer, and I have been chosen by the IFS Institute to be on the “Accelerated Training Program”, which is a program designed to “fast track” people from under-represented communities into the Lead Trainer roles.
